Blog for Frontiers and Fortresses: 2014 Study Abroad Program
This blog will document the adventures of the 2014 Frontiers and Fortresses Study Abroad program for parents, family and other friends to follow us on our journey through Cumbria, Northern England and Southern Scotland. The program is framed around three courses that the students will complete during their trip, International Experience, History of England I, and Archaeology of the North. These courses will be explored through a mixture of classroom instruction, field trips to historical sites, field exercises and daily exploration of English culture.
We will be housed at the Fusehill Campus at the University of Cumbria in the city Carlisle.
Frontiers and Fortresses is led by Professor Carl Blair, who has studied and conducted research in and around Cumbria since his very own undergraduate degree. The program is also guided by two TAs, Adam Riederer and Kim Garthe.
Please stay tuned and check back in for daily updates! Students, parents, family and friends are encouraged to comment and share the stories documented by this blog.
